A journey of contrasts, where France, Puerto Rico, and Latin America engage in dialogue with lyricism, rhythm, and great energy. This program proposes a chamber music journey full of contrasts, color, and expressive force, where the French refinement, Latin American vitality, and the sonorous richness of wind instruments and piano converse. The evening opens with Six pièces romantiques, Op. 55 by Cécile Chaminade, a work for piano four hands that evokes different landscapes and musical characters with elegance, lyricism, and romantic charm. The program continues with the Sextet, FP. 100 by Francis Poulenc, one of the brightest works in the repertoire for winds and piano, marked by its energy, humor, agility, and expressive contrasts. This sound is complemented by ¡Qué Tapón! by Luis F. Rodríguez Morales, a Puerto Rican piece that brings character, movement, and a musical perspective inspired by urban everyday life. The expressive intensity deepens with Chant de Linos by André Jolivet, a powerful work for flute and piano that combines virtuosity, drama, and a sound language of great ritual strength. Then, the Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Carlos Guastavino offers a moment of Argentine lyricism, with warm melodic lines and an intimate language of great beauty. The Puerto Rican repertoire returns with Canción Callada by José Rodríguez Alvira, for oboe, bassoon, and piano, a work of contemplative and expressive character. The concert culminates with Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Márquez, arranged by César A. Moriel Híjar, a vibrant and celebratory piece that unites elegance, rhythm, and Latin American energy in a closing full of emotion.
